Overview

AI Down ("aidown.io") is operated by SecureCoders. This policy describes what data we collect, why we collect it, and how you can exercise your rights. We aim to collect only what we need to provide the service.

Data We Collect

Account & Authentication

When you sign in using a magic link, we store your email address to authenticate your session. Sessions are managed via secure, HTTP-only cookies.

Alert Subscriptions

When you subscribe to alerts, we store your email address and selected provider preferences to send outage notifications. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in any alert email.

API Keys

If you create an API key, we store a hashed version of the key linked to your account. We log API usage (request counts, endpoints accessed) for rate limiting and abuse prevention.

Payment Information

Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store credit card numbers or payment details on our servers. Stripe's privacy policy governs their handling of payment data.

Analytics & Usage Data

We use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand how visitors use the site. This collects anonymized usage data including pages visited, session duration, and approximate location. You can opt out using browser-level controls or a GA opt-out extension.

Bot Protection

We use Cloudflare Turnstile on the sign-in form to prevent automated abuse. Turnstile does not use tracking cookies and operates under Cloudflare's privacy policy.

How We Use Your Data

• Authenticate your account and manage sessions
• Send alert notifications you subscribed to
• Process payments for paid tiers
• Enforce API rate limits and prevent abuse
• Improve the site based on aggregate usage patterns

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.

Service Providers

We use the following third-party services to operate AI Down:

Data Retention

• Account data: Retained while your account is active. Deleted upon request.
• Alert subscriptions: Retained until you unsubscribe.
• API usage logs: Retained for 90 days for rate limiting and debugging.
• Analytics data: Governed by Google Analytics data retention settings (14 months).

Your Rights

You can:

• Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
• Request deletion of your account and associated data
• Unsubscribe from alert emails at any time
• Opt out of analytics via browser settings
